Many people do not know that the skin also works in auto-pilot. It has the natural capacity to cleanse and rejuvenate. Also, many people do not give any thought about how often they expose themselves to toxins and how much of these toxins buildup in the skin or passes through the skin and get stored in their bodies. Let’s face it, in the real world, elements like dust, dirt and pollution are virtually unavoidable. Every moment, the skin is exposed to the toxic chemicals found present in the air, food, water, in the products you use and in the fabric of the clothes you wear. Constant dirt buildup and exposure to harsh elements poses undue strain to your skin’s natural ability to cleanse and undergo detox. It overwhelms your body’s ability to neutralize and cleanse. Hence, you need to a proper skin care regimen to effectively maintain a clean and healthy looking skin.

Healthy skin results from proper skin cleansing, toning and moisturizing regimen. Due to the overwhelming dirt and toxic buildup on the skin, you need to do some skin cleansing to prevent clogging your skin’s pores and sebaceous glands. You may need to use clean and soft wash cloths or sponges. Start with your face. Apply a good makeup cleanser on a wetted cotton pad and gently rub it over your eyelids to remove your eye makeup. When cleansing, do circular gentle massaging strokes. This should loosen the dirt buildup on the skin as well as improve circulation. If you apply mascara, be extra patient in removing your eye makeup. Then, move to the other portions of your face.

Remember that moist skin is more absorbent. Water is a great cleansing vehicle. As a rule of thumb, always use lukewarm water on your skin. How water or hot showers can seriously damage your skin over time. In addition, cold water is less ideal is it makes embedded dirt and oils harder to remove. Depending on the kind of cleanser you use, always remember not to leave any trace of your cleanser on your skin; cleanser residue will only clog your pores. Remove them by using a soft wash cloth. Also, blot off excess water. After that, you are ready to apply your skin toning and hydrating or moisturizing regimen.

Skin cleansing is actually easy to do. But the problem lies on the quality and kind of cleansing product that you use. The problem with chemical laden cleansers is that they feed your skin with a toxic cleansing cocktail that may potentially have long-term effects. Also, they tend to strip the skin with its protective layer of oil, leaving it dry, itchy and unprotected from the onslaught of dirt and infectious bacteria. The use of poor quality cleansers virtually creates a vicious skincare regimen that may potentially have serious health consequences.

The problem is that almost all facial soaps and facial washes sold in stores today contain synthetic chemicals. The absence of a strict regulating body to monitor the ingredients used by cosmetic companies made it possible for harsh chemical ingredients to be used in making skin cleansing products. With long term use, these chemicals pose serious health risks such as cancer. The availability of natural, organic and plant-based skin cleansing products offered people the option safely and effectively remove dirt and oil buildup. People who do not want to subject themselves to these risks turn to natural and organic skincare cleansers to allow Mother Nature to help them do skin cleansing without harmful side-effects.
