Lisa Your Questions About Vitamin E Skin Care Cream

Lisa asks…

Is this a good skin care routine for someone who is 23?

Morning: Wash with Burts Bees deep cleanser
Moisturizer with Olay Complete with spf 15

Bedtime: Wash with original noxzema
Pure vitamin E oil under eyes
Alternate nightly between Retin-A gel and Burt’s Bees Radiance Night Cream

I’m mainly looking to prevent future wrinkles. My skin barely breaks out anymore

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Vitamin E Skin Care Cream

admin answers:

If it doesn’t dry your skin out too much, it sounds fine. The spf 15 is good, but if you live in a really sunny place, I would go up to 30 in the summer for sure.

Vitamin E is great for your skin, I would put it over your whole face – if you keep your face a little damp when you put it on, it goes on thinner so you don’t clog your pores or get that greasy feeling.

Retin-a can actually cause younger skin to break out if you use too much of it. If you find that you’re getting little bumps wherever you put it, try taking a CoQ10 supplement instead.

CoQ10 vitamin pills are actually fantastic for preventing wrinkles, and since you ingest them they improve your skin all over your body, and they keep your heart healthy too. Many drugstores carry a 2 or 3 month supply for around $20.

Laura Your Questions About Bio Skin Care Cream

Laura asks…

what skin care product should i use first?

i need to get rid of pimples , redness and scars covering my face but cannot seem to figure out which product to use first. I have the following ( please do not tell me to buy more stuff !!!):
1- gentle facial scrub
2-neutrogena deep clean foaming cleanser
3-Clearasil ultra: acne treatment cream
4-Clearasil ultra: rapid action pimple cream
5-Bio oil
6- Vitamin E cream: moisturizing cream

Thanks in advance. Also one last question, i bought Loreal revitalift( night cream : anti wrinkle + Firming , deep action, with elastin and pro-retinol A). Will this help my skin , I lost a lot of weight and need to firm the skin a bit ). I am 21 by the way
I just said i am not going to buy anything else people !!!!

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Bio Skin Care Cream

admin answers:

Uhhh.. Try and stick with one facial scrub and one moisturizer… (maybe a heavier moisturizer at night than in the morning). You don’t want to cake it on so much that your face can’t breathe.. And you don’t want to be constantly putting chemicals on your face… Keep it simple, wash your face maybe 2-3 times a day, only scrub it at night (the rest of the washes should just be rinses).

1) (at night) neutrogena deep clean foaming cleanser
2) lotion
3) apply pimple cream stuff only on the pimply spots
4) SLEEP
5) (morning) gentle facial scrub
6) lighter moisturizer

Ruth Your Questions About Bio Skin Care Cream

Ruth asks…

Skin care??

I wash my face bascially twice a day, morning and night.
I was wondering if it’s okay if I use:
A cream cleanser
A scrub cleanser (for blackheads)
Toner
Moisturizer
Day and Night Mosturizer
Acne Treatment
Is that too much???
I’ve been trying to get rid of blackheads and acne scars on my face.
Any suggestions to get rid of them fast and easy???
How long will Bio Oil work to get rid of acne scars on face around nose area??
Is it true that if you don’t have blackheads, you don’t get alot of acne?

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Bio Skin Care Cream

admin answers:

Everything is good, but unless you have acne ditch the treatment.

Best thing for blackhead and scars are AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids). Very mild natural acids that help slough off dead skin promoting new skin. Each acid is different and results vary based on your skin type.

I’d look into getting a glycolic based toner or moisturizer. If you have the funds I’d highly recommend getting a chemical peel (lactic acid, glycolic acid or salicylic). These are mild peels that overtime with help with acne, scars, blackheads, and hyper pigmentation.

Stick with a mild cleanser (wash your face 2 times to remove all residue)
Glycolic toner
Moisturizer with SPF (SPF will also help with discoloration and scarring)
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a natural fruit enzyme peel (h2t has an awesome pumpkin peel)
Professional peels every 4-6 weeks or you can buy your own chemical peel (I’d start with 30% lactic or glycolic)

Best of luck!

Lisa Your Questions About Organic Skincare And Makeup

Lisa asks…

Allergic reaction after using “ORGANIC” skincare!!?

After finding out that organic or all-natural products are better for your skin, I decided to give them a try. I had pretty good skin and barely ever broke out. I bought the Aubrey Organics skin care set and after using it for 2 weeks I began breaking out badly and my face seemed very irritated. I didn’t think it was the Aubrey Organics so I thought it’s my makeup I’m allergic to! It took me a while to realize that it’s actually the “organic” skin care products that were irritating my skin. I switched back to my old skincare regime and my skin normalized. But I don’t understand how can “organic” products react that way on your skin? Isn’t “organic” better for you? I don’t get it.

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Organic Skincare And Makeup

admin answers:

You are allergic to something in the skincare product. It’s really that simple.

Organic is a marketing term. It is generally meaningless. Both organic and conventional products are likely to contain some plant extracts. You are much more likely to be allergic to one of those than a synthesized chemical.

Organic does not mean safer or better.

Should I do my entire skin care routine after exercise?

I do my entire skin care routine every morning and night, but should i do it after a sweaty workout? I generally exercise mid-day around 4pm. Here is my skin care routine:

Morning:
Dermalogica medibac clearing skin wash
then I swipe my face with a green tea and vitamin e ice cube to reduce redness
dermalogica multi active toner
dermalogica clearing mattifier
dermalogica skin smoothing cream

Night
Dermalogica medibac clearing skin wash
dermalogica daily resurfacer
dermalogica multi active toner
dermalogica clearing mattifier
dermalogica overnight gel as a spot treatment
dermalogica skin smoothing cream

I also do a twice weekly thermofoliant and a twice weekly aspirin/honey mask.

Thanks for the help! As you can tell I LOVE dermalogica. I recommend it to everyone!

As long as you don’t wear makeup, you should just cleanse and moisturize after exercising. Otherwise, you will start to irritate your skin.

First time purchasing Philosophy Skin Care Line?

I’m about to start using the Philosophy Skin Care Line and I don’t know what to buy. I’ve heard tons of good reviews about the purity and hope in a jar moisturizer. I need a list of the products that I should buy for the first time. Almost like a starter kit. I need like a face cleanser, eye cream, and moisturizer. The products I need are mostly for acne and to smooth out my skin. Thanks everybody!

They have a kit for acne prone skin:

Their eye cream is actually really good:

The purity cleanser is really good but I would stick with their acne line.

I wouldn’t recommend hope in a jar for acne prone skin. It seems too rich.

Sandy Your Questions About Face Cleanser And Moisturizer

Sandy asks…

What is a good face cleanser & moisturizer for dry skin with dermatitis?

Hello all. icon smile Your Questions About Face Cleanser And Moisturizer

I have a little dermatitis on my face. I went to the mall today & told a person at Lancome that I have dermatitis. I bought some all over face & eyes makeup remover. It’s oily & works great for dry skin. I used it and loved it!

Now, all I need is a good cleanser & moisturizer. I use Clearasil Daily Face Wash…but I don’t feel like it does much for my face because the red spots where my dermatitis is become real noticable after I use it. And I use Olay Complete All day moisture cream with SPF after I wash. I used to use it at night. Until the lady at Lancome told me it’s not good to use SPF in the nightime…and especially if i have dermatitis!

What is a good face cleanser & moisturizer that you can wear day or night for persons with dry skin (that may flake a little in some areas) and dematitis?

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Face Cleanser And Moisturizer

admin answers:

Hello Betty:
I also have dry skin and I started using the Olay cleansing towelettes. You have to wet it and it lathers up. I love the way it cleans my skin. I cut the towelette in half to make them last twice as long. The package says that it is for all skin types. For a moisturizer I like tried and true Pond’s Dry Skin Cream or a bit pricier L’Oreal Hydra-Renewal. I can’t use anything with SPF stuff in it as I am allergic to it.

EDIT: The reply from tito is way off base. Never use anything like that.

Carol Your Questions About Organic Skincare For Acne

Carol asks…

Is it worth buying organic skin care products?

I was checking out a web site (can’t remember the name! Sorry!)

And it was a listing for every over the counter product on the market for Hair care & skin care. Each product is measured on scale from 0-10, 0 being the best, 10 being the worst. Most of the products I use for my skin falls in the middle (Moderate Hazard) with the exception of my Carmex lip balm (they said it was EXTREMELY hazardous to my health because of the ingredients)
Now I have made a step forward in terms of an organic lifestyle. (I drink organic milk and eat organic eggs. I’ve stopped relaxing my hair almost 2 years ago and use organic products in my hair)But I am afraid of trying to switch to Organic products in terms of skin care.

I have had acne for 11 years and it has ranged from a mild case of zits to a horrible case of Cystic acne on my back, chest and face that has left scarring and dark marks. I feel like for the first time in a long time I have some control over it.

1. I drink alot of water.
2. I use Dial Gold Bar soap to wash my body.
3. For my face Noxzema Triple Clean Antibacterial Wash, Noxzema Triple Clean Acne pads, Neutrogena’s Invigorating foaming scrub and Retin-A.
(I know that is alot for my face, but nothing else has worked up to this point!)
4. To moisturize I just use Cetaphil Moisturizing Body lotion and the facial moisturizer with SPF 15.

But according to this website, I shouldn’t be using any of my skin products because of the risks with the ingredients.

I fear that if I start to experiment with Organic skincare products, all of the Acne I fought to get rid of will come back tenfold!

Not to mention I’m on a very strict budget!

But I would like to use more Organic products in the future, but I’m afraid they will not serve their purpose and I will be stuck with bad skin and empty pockets!

What should I do?

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Organic Skincare For Acne

admin answers:

Personally, the fewer chemicals and junk in my products the better, my body doesn’t seem to like them very much. You’d be amazed at what little gifts nature has hidden in the world and how well they work. And you’d probably be surprised how many pharmaceuticals are made from plants (ephdra for example has been used in China for 5000 years to treat asthma and other respiratory aliments, I used it two months ago to treat a very severe asthma attack I was considering going to the hospital for).

I like Burt’s Bee’s, it’s more natural than a lot of other products out there but isn’t that expensive. Just go online and see what you can find, Tea Tree Oil is just as effective as benzoyl peroxide but without the harsh side effects. You can make your own products which in the long run will cost you less.

Jenny asks…

PanOxyl Acne Bar?

I’ve been using PanOxyl Bar for quite a while now, and everything seemed to be working out fine. For the past couple of days I have been leaving it on my face for a few seconds longer than usual and am expecting this is the cause…the past couple of times I have used it, my face felt very stiff after. It felt kind of like a burning sensation. When I woke up the next day, I did my usual routine and washed my face again with the PanOxyl bar. During the day I noticed my face was very red and it hurt even with the smallest move of my face. I’ve been applying Vitamin E skin care cream on my face throughout the whole day today, and have not washed my face since yesterday morning. I’m assuming this was all caused because I left the wash on a little longer and it may have been too much for my skin. My face is not really peeling but more like when I scratch at the area skin flaked off a little…Does anyone know what I can do to make the soreness/red/peeling go away or stop as soon as possible

You might be using the bar too much, because when i use stridex it tends to dry out my face when i use it every day,so i usually use it every other day.

Tattoo help!!?

I got my tattoo colored today about 3 hours ago…I had the black outline for 2 years before getting the color.
But how in the hell do I get it to stop buring. I took the plactic wrap off after 2 hours like I was told. Rinsed it and then put vitamin E skin care cream on it.
ITS BURING!! and hurts so bad….what can I do to make it better just to sleep tonight.
Its pretty big like my whole lower back
It stopped buring after about 25 mins omg it was horrible!
Now its just there and if I move to fast it stings.
I did go to the same shop and the same guy who did the outline. I just don’t remember the outline buring that bad

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Vitamin E Skin Care Cream

admin answers:

I know exactly what you mean. I have a pretty large piece between my shoulder blades and it felt like it was on fire. It’s normal with bigger pieces because you’ve agitated more skin thus the redness, burning and even itchyness.

After a few more hours the burning will go down. Icing your tattoo will aid with the burning, slow any bleeding and any swelling. To ice the tattoo put on the ointment, plastic wrap and then and ice pack on and off every 10-15 minutes. Don’t keep the plastic wrap on for more than an hour as you want the tattoo to be able to breathe.

But it is not fading, instead some slightly reddish color in the area which

I got the information from,

and, ‘These two requirements are exactly met by a natural skin care cream
containing *Extrapone Nutgrass Root* and *Phytessence Wakame*.’

I wanted to know where can I find the cream which is Genuine and it can cure
my hyperpigmentation and how long it will take to cure.
I wanted to know can I get it through counter in india(Karnataka)

Please let me know the complete detail.

Thanks and regards,
Omajit

female doctor cropped Your Questions About Skin Care Creams In India

admin answers:

Hi Omajit. Firstly I want you to know that most of the websites on the internet are rubbish and pure marketing.
Secondly, since the hydroquinone cream didn’t work, obviously your pigmentation goes quite deep, possibly below the epidermis and into the dermis. This would mean that dermabrasion is useless since it only rubs off the uppermost layer of your skin, the stratum corneum.

I always give my patients a choice. There’s no point in forcing them to choose something threy may not like. The first is the use of ablative lasers to correct your skin colour. Hyperpigmentation of your skin is caused by the production of melanin in the area after collagen is sent there to rebuild damaged tissue. It is quite expensive all around the world unfortunately.

The other option is much more accessible. Start yourself on a product with azelaic acid or adapalene. I prefer adapalene because this compound promotes cell turnover so skin renews itself much more quickly. Thus, pigmentation deep down in your skin will go away quicker. Note that this process depends on the natural rejuvenation of your skin as melanin levels gradually decrease over time (months or years we’re talking about).
